Recreation
The Town of Swan River has a wide variety of recreation programs in operation.
Program Registration:
To register call the Recreation Office at (204) 734 -3847
Registration must be completed in advance and fees must be paid prior to starting
Programs, events, etc may be postponed or cancelled due to a lack of enrollment or extenuating circumstances
Programs Available:
Playground Programs - open to children ages 5-12, consists of fun activities including art & crafts, games, and field trips
Youth Soccer - open to children ages 5-12, runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am - 12 noon at the Taylor School Field
Men's Basketball - open to men ages 16+, runs every Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30pm at the Taylor School Gym (July 6th - August 12th)
Women's Basketball - open to women ages 16+, runs every Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30pm at the Taylor School Gym (July 6th - August 11th)
Aqua Size Classes - run every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30am at the Kinsmen Pool (July 7th - August 13th)
Atkinson's Slo-Pitch League - mixed league (May - June)
In Addition:
Legion Park - six-acre park located in the center of Town, complete with 3 softball diamonds (1 fenced and lit, 2 with homerun fence only), picnic area & playground, announcing booth & concession (picture )
Golf Course - 9-hole course features grass greens, watered fairways, pro shop and a licensed dining room (picture)
Rotary Pathway for Active Living - over a mile of paved pathway located in the Legion Park as well as a nature pathway located at the end of Swan River Drive, suitable for walking, jogging, and biking (picture)
Swan River Kinsmen Pool - junior size Olympic pool complete with a diving board and full change facilities, fully qualified instructors/guards available and offer a wide range of water safety programs (June - August) (picture)
Swan River Centennial Arena - 196' x 85' artificial ice surface, administrative offices, 6 dressing rooms, full concession facilities, heated viewing area, outdoor rink. Provides location for hockey, broomball, ringette, figure skating, public skating, tradeshows, auctions, dances, roller hockey and roller skating (picture)
